Your Omics Logic Profile

Dealing with data efficiently to process, analyze, visualize and annotate will ultimately require some coding - even if the code launches other scripts developed by a more experienced programmer. Therefore everyone dealing with data (and especially omics data) needs to develop an understanding of how to read, write, change or optimize code. This might mean writing new code from scratch, knowing and using libraries and packages efficiently and correctly, or launching software with a user interface. That is why we created a place where you can look into practical examples of scripting languages for visualization and “making sense” of biological data. Coding is like a language that you should learn if you are to travel to the land of data.

OmicsLogic programs are developed using project-based content that is enriched with multimedia content. These are divided into 5-10 minute modules with videos, quizzes and assignments that can be completed independently. All commonly used omics data types are explained from a biological and data analysis perspectives.

Assignments for each module include a visual interface that helps link together individual algorithms into bioinformatics pipelines while learning about the data analysis. These pipelines include color-coded and logical steps for analysis. Complex data processing pipelines that analyze terabytes of raw data become a learning experience.

Once the data is prepared, it can be studied using analytical tools, visualization and annotation. Omics Logic Code playground helps develop coding skills while learning popular packages in R and Python to visualize, annotate and analyze complex patterns in gene expression, variant and metagenomics datasets.

All of the learning activity is analyzed, learning about the user background, skills and understanding. This information is converted into user points and badges that help stay motivated. By working with thousands of international studnets, this information provides insights into successful learning journeys and recommended courses.
